VMA supported me in successfully finding an analytics director role. Originally I spoke to Gabriel last year, and was introduced to Mark in 2026 for a different role, both were an absolute pleasure to work with, providing detailed preparation for each round as well making the overall process constructive and fun

9 Feb 2026 - I emailed over my CV for a role that one of VMA's senior consultants had advertised on LinkedIn. Shortly afterwards (same day), he sent me a LinkedIn connection request. No note, no thanks for your email, no hello. I never did receive any acknowledgement of my interest in the role. 5 May 2026 - I then dropped him a note on LinkedIn to see if there might be any other suitable opportunities, or if it might be appropriate to have a conversation. I received no acknowledgement. 5 June 2026 - followed up by email one last time, and to ask if there was someone it would be more appropriate at VMA for me to contact. Again, no acknowledgement at all. I appreciate it's a tough world for recruiters, I do, and I know the current model feels a little broken with the sheer number of candidates looking for roles. But it's not as tough for recruiters as it is for candidates, and a little respect would go a long way. This feels very poor, and rather shortsighted, from an agency which apparently prides itself on "building strong and lasting relationships."

My experience with VMA Group was excellent. Mark was clearly focused not only on helping me prepare for interviews, but also on making sure that the role was definitely right for me by asking plenty of pertinent questions that you don't often get from recruiters. I never felt pressured or unsure of how the process was going, and would certainly recommend VMA and Mark to both employers and candidates.
