Having been working within the global pleasure vessel marine industry since 2010 mostly on short term contracts, I have had dealings with various recruitment agencies over the years, most of which have been unproductive, unprofessional and a waste of time particularly with 'Jobs in Maritime' who in the mid 2010's lead hundreds of people into believing they were recruiting for a second tier Thames Tideway Tunnel contract that had not yet been awarded. Hence I have asked to be removed from their databases because of this sort of deceptive behaviour. Recently marine resources have put me forward for a position in the far south west, which I failed to acquire after interview and have since been in contact over about a year with other positions that maybe of interest. Their attitudes are refreshingly professional and go against the grain regarding recruitment agencies having bad reputations. It is worth giving these people a chance even if you are halfway through a career but are not that well networked directly into your industry's employers directly as I am not due to not living near the epicentres of our section the the marine industry's areas and having not collected enough business contacts over the years whilst visiting these areas. Particularly the attitude of Sarah Thorn at Marine Resources flanked by Frank Boyes and Ben McMeekin has prompted this review.
