I had a fantastic experience with Lightning Travel Recruitment. I spoke with Jack, Caolan and Sarah and all three were very quick with setting up calls and getting me interviews. Sarah was the one who helped me secure my new role and Caolan helped finalise it. I would recommend them in a heartbeat as they offer great roles at interesting companies and provide support and help along the way.

Got off to an amazing start being looked after by Robin back in March, for a role I was told I would be a shoe in for given my experience in luxury travel with UHNW clients previously. I was assured other roles would be thrown my way during this process also, to ensure the right role was found for me and my options weren't limited. However after my first round of interviews, Robin left the business abruptly and handed me over to Jack Williams for the remainder of the process. This is when it went downhill rapidly. I had no contact with Jack after the handover. With multiple weeks going by and no response to my multiple emails asking for an update on the role, there were also multiple roles being posted that I thought I would have been perfect for, and had been promised I would be put forward for in the meantime. I received no communication over these or the current role. I put this down to how busy Jack was, and their clients disorganisation, as my first interview had been rescheduled a couple times already. However, despite my emails being ignored for around a month, Jack and the whole team found the time to post on LinkedIn regularly to update their followers on how amazing the company was doing and their awards on inclusivity. I called Jack and the team out on this and was met with an empty apology and told I had been declined from the role WEEKS prior with no update until now. I had been chasing and holding out hope for absolutely no reason, with also no other applications being put in under my name instead in the meantime. Jack reassured me he would continue to look for a new role for me and would keep me on file for anything else he thought would suit me, however it has been 9 months and I've not heard from anyone at Lightning since. I'm truly disappointed by this as I found that they had a really great selection of roles, and were an openly, very inclusive and transparent business, and only wanted to work with companies who aligned with this. I found this really refreshing and something I wanted to be a part of and support, which is why I went with them in the first place. I was applying for roles with higher salaries given my experience, so I assumed they would want to find me a role ASAP so they could have their payday from me, but this is clearly not the case. The lack of communication and clarity I received after Robin left abruptly has left a bad taste in my mouth and cannot unsee the various LinkedIn posts and articles as just glossy, airy self promotion pieces, with no real work being done to look after the applicant behind the scenes. If in future, they could turn this around and genuinely help me find a new role by putting me first, rather than just their public imagine on socials, I would reconsider using them. Until then, I would strongly suggest avoiding Lightning Travel Recruitment.
