I recently joined a law firm in Tampa, Florida and Jake Ducksbury at Taylor Hawkes Global is the reason the transition went smoothly from start to finish. Jake brought me the opportunity, coordinated the interview stages without a dropped ball, and shepherded the offer and acceptance through to close. Ahead of each interview he shared the interviewers’ backgrounds so I walked in prepared, and he stayed reachable the entire way. I never once had to chase an update. If you’re an attorney weighing your next move, I highly recommend working with Jake.

I have worked with two recruiters at Taylor Hawkes and they both made the process very easy. I was matched with positions that I really jive with, so it was an easy decision to move forward.

I had the fortune of working alongside Oscar and Terry who assisted me since December of last year until they found the perfect role for me. They advocated for me and I am starting a new role that will bring many positive things to my career. I can’t thank them enough for their professionalism and their efforts. Cheers to new beginnings

I worked with Jack Groom recently. He went above and beyond by reaching out to CPA firms that weren’t even hiring yet. He was amazing at communicating all the steps with me and was very nice. Thanks to him, I received a great offer at a well-known firm closer to home just within a few short weeks of starting my search. Thank you, Jack!

Your experience will depend on which recruiter you work with. In the past I was highly disappointed with this firm, their lack of communication and timely followup and lack of consideration for the fact that they are in a different country with significant time zone difference. Martyn Raby (former employee) and Trimane Campbell were highly unhelpful. The former, cost me an offer because he got into an argument with the company who hired him regarding his commission fees. The latter cost me an interview and offer which ultimately cost me my housing and put me on the streets. I have reminded all employees that contacting anyone between 2 and 4 am EST is not an acceptable business practice, regardless of if it fits within their business hours in the UK. I have communicated companies that I have already worked for or interviewed with and they presented me as a candidate without prior approval. One edited my resume without authorization, causing additional concerns from a potential employer when it didn't match my online profile. Both stopped responding altogether as I was urgently awaiting response for several months which I find highly unprofessional. Trimane even had the audacity to send me several clearly templated emails and LinkedIn messages trying to schedule an initial introduction AFTER he had completely blown me off and failed to respond to my constant asking for an update on what was going on and communicating my urgent situation, as if we had never met or spoken before. Even after I pointed out that we have previously spoken and I was waiting months for answers, he still couldn't have the respect to apologize or respond in any way. If you can't write your own correspondence and read and respond to clients in a humane way, you have no business calling yourself an advocate in any way. On the other hand, my most recent interaction, with Cal Phillips, was the most pleasant. He was respectful of my schedule/timezone and needs, and always followed up to keep me in the loop. He was ultimately able to secure me a position in November with the same firm that Trimane had previously attempted to set up an interview for back in April which was never confirmed or executed to a point where he told me to "give up" on continuously asking for an update. Had I been in touch with Cal from the start, I may have not been in the homeless situation I am currently in. I would advise anyone working with them to stay on top of communications and be vigilant about what you need. Don't be afraid to walk away or ask to speak to someone else if they are not supporting you (it's their job). I would advise the firm itself to do better vetting of their employees and more routine performance evaluations. The majority of recruiters I have worked with in the past have no business collecting a paycheck for their lack of ability to follow directions and be respectful. If you're going to insist on coordinating job placement overseas you need to be efficient and knowledgeable about what you're doing, do your research so you can properly inform the client, and be fully aware of timezone differences.

It has been an incredible experience and opportunity to work with Jasmin Miller while looking for new accounting opportunities as a CPA that better align with my career growth. Jasmin advocated for me and listened to what would be the best fit for me and my personal goals. Couldn’t recommend more!
