Values Promoted, Not Practiced I was contacted by a senior recruiter at SR2 for a Test Automation contract role. The initial outreach lacked basic clarity, and I had to ask follow-up questions just to understand what was being offered. After responding professionally and in good faith, I was completely ghosted no feedback, no next steps, no closure. I escalated the issue directly to SR2. I received a response from their Sales Director, who apologised and said the recruiter had missed my message due to client pressure and shifting priorities. But this only confirmed the core problem once a more urgent opportunity came along, my engagement was abandoned without any communication. What’s worse after I replied with a thoughtful and measured response, highlighting how this behaviour contradicts SR2’s stated values around ethical and inclusive hiring I received no reply. Not even an acknowledgment. The silence continued, this time from leadership. SR2 brands itself as a “socially responsible” recruitment agency, supposedly committed to equity, inclusion, and candidate care. My experience suggests otherwise. As a Black professional in tech, I’ve faced more than my share of barriers in hiring from being overlooked to being dismissed without cause. This experience was not just unprofessional, it was demoralising. To be contacted, then ignored, then ignored again after raising concerns respectfully it reflects a troubling lack of accountability and respect for underrepresented talent. If SR2 wants to be known for its values, it needs to start living them not just marketing them. Respect, communication, and follow-through aren’t optional extras. They’re the bare minimum. Until that gap between branding and reality is closed, I cannot recommend SR2 to any serious professional especially those from marginalised backgrounds who deserve better than lip service.

Received a generic email from hello@ that tells me not to expect any application feedback "due to the high volume of applications coming in at the moment".

Nothing but a poor experience with these guys. Like to look good on LinkedIn and get you interested in a role and then completely ghost and don’t provide feedback too. Not a good experience dealing with Tom L and Jed T. I wouldn’t recommend them.

Dealt with Mark Reddy. Great guy, transparent, professional and kept me up to date throughout the process, even after work hours. He's helped me find my dream role and a major step forward in my career. Can't thank Mark and the team at SR2 enough , highly recommend!

Dealt with Mark Reddy. Spoke on the phone about a specific opportunity. He said he would put me forward. I then heard nothing for 2 or 3 weeks (the company in question looked at my LinkedIn profile so I assume they managed to put me forward). I had to chase 3 time to get a reply. "they are busy end of year, will get back to you asap"..... 3 weeks later, nothing, not even a holding email. Pathetic. Remember that a candidate today could be a hiring manager client tomorrow. Or not in this case.

Never had even an acknowledgement or response from any role I've ever applied for. Waste of time, will not apply through them again.

Although I didn't find a placement through SR2 I wanted to say how great Gracie has been to deal with. She matched me with some really interesting roles and was attentive and proactive throughout my job search. She helped guide me through the interviews with lots of good prep and tips for how to succeed. I will be recommending friends to contact Gracie at SR2 if they are looking for a new role.

Siobhan called me while I was on holiday - I called back, no reply, I emailed, no reply. I mentioned the call to the next agent from SR2 who called who dropped Siobhan a message, still nothing. Really annoying and disrespectful not to bother replying to communication when you were the one who contacted me. Other people I dealt with in SR2 were more professional.

I recently worked with SR2 on filling 2 challenging roles within my organisation and what stood out the most to me besides their values, and their contribution to society, was that SR2 seems to be one of these agencies that will truly make a difference not only with a hiring team, but also charities, which was a huge selling point to me. Continuing my collaboration with Steph I can only say my impression got even better. In her calls with our hiring team she asked the ight questions, fully understood what we were after and she delivered her promises around quality over quantity, which helped our managers' demanding schedules with few and targeted interviews, with an impressive time to hire of 2 weeks! Would absolutely recommend SR2 and its agents to any company struggling with filling niche roles and value their time.
