They are friendly and eventually they do share detailed feedback on the interview process. Unfortunately the job did not match the description given upfront on key characteristics I specifically asked for (travel time was over 2 hours each week to their clients).

Very aggressive cold calling acquisition: they don’t stop until they’ve reached you, repeatedly calling both me and my business partners. This approach is not permitted under Dutch regulations and is not appreciated.

Feedback: Even though it was technically an interview day, it did not feel like one. I was welcomed warmly by you, had time to get to know a bit about the company, build some rapport, and even see a bit of the office. The coffee on arrival was a nice bonus too. Soon after, I had my conversation with Indi which was genuinely good. I got to learn about him as an individual and what he values when it comes to success. It did not feel like a standard question and answer interview, but more of a person to person dialogue where we were both genuinely listening and considering the fit. I came away with an understanding of his philosophy on the career and industry, which was refreshing. He also asked questions I have not heard before, which gave me a chance to present myself in a more authentic and unrehearsed way. Lastly, I met Daniel, another great person. Like the others, our chat felt more like a conversation than a formal interview. I got to learn about his family, his working philosophy, and even his favourite football club (though I will admit, for a Londoner, I expected Arsenal, just saying). Overall, what could have been just another interview day turned into an opportunity to connect with some brilliant people. It gave me valuable insight into the career path I am pursuing, and it was honestly inspiring to meet like minded individuals who gave me a glimpse of what my own future could look like.

I initially had a positive impression of this recruitment company, appreciating their efforts in the early stages. However, as our communication progressed, there were significant lapses in understanding my reasons for leaving. While I acknowledge that misunderstandings can happen, it became a recurring issue. The final communication was disappointing. They messaged to inform me they had contacted the company who had offered me a job that I would not be accepting and then questioned my decision but also suggested that I made a mistake trusting a counteroffer at my current workplace. The use of phrases like "lottery ticket" seemed unprofessional and did not contribute to a constructive dialogue. Clear communication is crucial in any professional relationship, and unfortunately, this aspect fell short. I had hoped for a more accurate representation of my situation and a supportive approach, especially considering our earlier interactions. In providing this feedback, my intention is to encourage the company to review their processes and ensure a better understanding of candidates' perspectives. I believe in the potential for improvement and hope that future candidates have a more positive experience.

At first, I was hesitant about working with another recruitment agency because my last experience was really bad. But then Will came along and blew my doubts away. He didn't just talk a good game, he actually came through, and fast. He and his team continuously were a step ahead in terms of communication and managing expectations. I'd definitely say go for Oakwell Hampton when you're in need of a recruitment firm. They're top-notch.
