Absolutely pathetic - worst experience with a recruiter this year (and that’s not saying all the others have been great by any means)! After a couple of months with no roles presented (September to December) a recruiter (who I’m too nice to publicly defame, luckily for her) set up a call and presented some roles (03/12/24). We agreed I’d go forward for two - one she was pushing for, one I wanted. Of course, she concentrated on the one she wanted to push for first - I asked her again to put me forward for the other too, as it was my preference. She claimed to have “misplaced the notes” from our call and asked some questions again. Today (22/01/2025) after many chasers over the weeks - I receive a message to say that: - the role I wanted to go for has been changed and no longer a fit (bizarre as was a great fit before almost 2 months ago - no mention of what’s changed and when) - she will get my profile over to the role she was pushing, TODAY From that I can tell my profile hadn’t been presented to either, so replying to all my chasers with “haven’t heard back yet” suddenly makes a lot of sense. Informed her not to put me forward and to delete my profile from their systems explaining my reasons… Got a prompt reply (unusual for her) with numerous excuses and a promise for an update by the end of the day. To management @ EC1 - please ensure your employees have the decency to be honest and act professionally with candidates who trust your company to help them in their job search. This is what I assume happens when people are far too comfortable in their roles and don’t fear consequences of dishonesty and inaction. Luckily, there’s plenty of other recruitment firms around who you should trust - unfortunately, I can never again request EC1 Partners as one of those given my experience. Good luck to the partners, but please get your house in order.
