I was actively headhunted by this agency and encouraged to leave a secure role for a position they were representing. I was told the team was supportive, the environment was positive, and that training would be provided to help me succeed in the role. The employment was terminated within the first month, entirely on the employer’s side, with no meaningful feedback other than a vague statement that I “didn’t fit in with the team.” No performance issues were raised prior to this. This was completely at odds with how the role and team had been presented to me and left me unexpectedly unemployed. I have a child and significant responsibilities, which made the lack of stability and sudden dismissal extremely serious. I raised these concerns with the agency immediately. Despite being aware of the circumstances and the impact on my family, they have provided no follow-up, no support, and no assistance in securing alternative work weeks later. If an agency actively persuades someone to leave stable employment, there is a responsibility to accurately represent the role and provide proper aftercare when things go wrong. In my experience, that responsibility was not met.
